Measuring the electric range

Electric car range used to be measured with the standardized test method for Europe: NEDC.

This was replaced with the "Worldwide Harmonized Light-Duty Vehicle Test Procedure" (WLTP). The Corsa-e range measured under the WLTP is up to 337 km*. Of course, the maximum range in everyday use deviates from both the NEDC and WLTP values. Factors such as road characteristics, weather conditions, driving style and additional load all influence range.

The new WLTP driving cycle considers situations that are closer to everyday life than the NEDC standard. It allows us to assess daily consumption better.

WLTP includes:

  • More realistic driving dynamics and external temperature
  • Greater test distance
  • Higher average and maximum speeds
  • Less holding times
  • More braking and acceleration

*Range data Opel Corsa-e (combined) 329 km to 337 km (depending on equipped options), determined according to WLTP test procedure methodology (R (EC) No. 715/2007, R (EU) No. 2017/1151. Everyday use may differ and is dependent on various factors. In particular: personal driving style, route characteristics, exterior temperature, heating/air conditioning, pre-conditioning.
